Maternal and Child Health BureauThe Children's Bureau was established in 1912. In 1935, the U.S. Congress enacted Title V of the Social Security Act, which authorized the Maternal and Child Health Services programs and provided a foundation and structure for assuring the health of American mothers and children.

National Healthy Start AssociationThe National Healthy Start Association (National Healthy Start Association), whose members include almost 100 federally funded Healthy Start projects in the United States, promotes community-based maternal and child health programs, particularly those that focus on the reduction of infant mortality, low birth weight and racial disparities in perinatal outcomes.

The system provides fast access to a complete set of employment tools in one web site. Surveys have proven that users find it convenient and very useful.

DHEC (WIC & Family Planning)The Department of Health and Environmental Control was created in 1973. DHEC operates health and environmental regional offices, as well as local health departments and clinics, to ensure that the many programs and services provided will meet the needs of local areas. Some services are available to all; some have eligibility requirements. Many are free, while others may carry a small charge to help cover expenses. Because each region has a custom mix of services, your local DHEC office will know exactly what services are available in your area and how you can get them.

SC Community Action Partnerships (OCAB)The purpose of the South Carolina Association of Community Action Partnerships, used interchangeably as the "state association" is to build the overall capacity and resources addressing the needs of the state's low-income, vulnerable, and indigent population served by Community Action Agencies and Head Start Programs in South Carolina. The state association strives to develop and advocate for programs to promote self-sufficiency and improve the quality of life for the low-income community.
